We are expanding and growing NBC News Now big time and fast. We need a creative, passionate team of journalists to make the magic happen morning, noon, and night.

NBC News NOW is seeking a talented senior producer who thrives in a breaking news, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment for Hallie Jackson NOW – the kickoff to the News NOW's primetime programming.

Get in touch if you're a highly skilled producer with strong editorial background and able to put together 100 mins of content for a two-hour daily show. Strong visual and scripting sensibility are a must to oversee and guide a team of producers, APs, and PAs. the ideal candidate can manage a control room through daily news, breaking, and rolling coverage. Have strong line-producing skills and able to jump in the rundown to quickly solve live show issues or changes/pivots. Solid managerial skills, experience with and able to lead by example. Most importantly mentor the team to create a positive and motivated environment.

Job Description:
• You're on top of the news. All the time. Eager to jump in and you thrive under tight deadlines
• Have BIG ideas to up the game in production and quality of the shows
• Work with the EP to put together rundowns that cover the big stories of the day and push the editorial forward in a smart and concise way.
• Identifying the right angles for reporter hits and guest segments
• Flagging the best elements - if it pops, we want it and we want your help finding it
• Enhance the scripts of your producers using your high-quality experienced writing
• Help to define the voice of the network and then work with talent, reporters and producers to make sure they speak the language we invent fluently
• You'll have a team of producers, APs, and PAs all looking to you for guidance, editing, and calm in a news storm

Qualifications

• Journalism (enough said)
• Demonstrated strength to manage a control room
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Proven and demonstrated nose for a story, the research skills to report it, the writing skills to tell it and the news judgment to green light it or kill it
• Ability to work fast and effectively, especially when news is breaking and time to air is getting short
• 6+ years of your working life has been spent doing a job that resembles this one – with ideally 2+ of those years as a prior manager, being in and around a control room.
• When the news cycle calls you answer, even on weekends or late nights or after you've already put in a long day
• You have big thoughts and the courage to voice them successfully
• You can fill in as EP when necessary
