Responsibilities

The NBC News Digital group is seeking a Product Designer with strong visual and interaction design skills for web. You will apply and evolve our design system toward crafting innovative, effective and beautiful solutions across landing pages, article pages, video pages and distributed spaces. Your impact is significant as you will touch projects from concept to highly refined visual and interactive design. What you will do:
• Work closely with Product Managers on understanding the goals, strategy and roadmap for our products
• Collaborate with the research team on project discovery, concept exploration and user testing
• Move a design through initial wireframe explorations to interactive prototypes to delivery of detailed final renderings with documentation for development
• Evolve, execute and evangelize our design system across experiences
• Participate in thorough critique sessions with product and design leads and peers and present to stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with the engineering teams, communicating with clarity, understanding and bringing a flexibility within their agile process

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:
• A portfolio of your work
• 3+ years experience in Product design, preferably in content publishing
• BA/BFA with a design focus
• Fluency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Protopie
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Successful experiences shipping products
• Willing to work in New York
• Legally able to work in the US
