Responsibilities
NBC Artworks is looking for a Creative Director to help lead our design team that supports the various linear and digital products of NBC NEWS. This includes the Today Show, MSNBC, NBC NEWS NOW, NBC NEWS FILMS, and Nightly News w/ Lester Holt. The ideal candidate will be passionate about all things design, with a penchant for strong conceptual thinking and a careful understanding of realistic production requirements.

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic candidate that appreciates storytelling and innovation. This role will require a balance of Creative risk taking and production timeline sensibilities.
Leading and mentoring a team of designers and technologists, the ideal candidate will inspire new thinking and contemporary visualizations.

Key responsibilities include:
• Devise imaginative and effective concepts for projects and find appropriate solutions to design challenges.
• Set high standards of design and provide the guidance to achieve them.
• Standardize necessary skill requirements and related proficiencies.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities through example to inspire our creative team.
• Focus on mentoring and coaching the team at an individual level.
• Further develop the team's compliment of skills to handle the new technical requirements of digital and future design realms.
• Champion good creative direction for clients and colleagues with excellent communication, sound advice and guidance.
• Maintain a positive, creatively focused environment that acknowledges hard work and rewards innovative thinking.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the creative field – with at least

4 years of experience at the senior Art Director level.
• Strong conceptual thinking in animation and design, that

can be applied across a wide selection of communication

channels, platforms and assets.
• Expert working knowledge and usage in key design

software. (Adobe Suite, web-based software, etc.)
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY when required.
• Must be willing to work extended hours, on weekends

and with short notice.
• Must be accessible 24 hours / 7 days a week.
