Responsibilities
As a Crash Researcher, you will work directly with Associate Producers, Producers and Senior Producers to help write/edit and assist in the production of original content for TODAY. The shift for this position is Sunday through Thursday, 2pm-12midnight.
• Assist in producing original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, conducting interviews and supporting field producing and shooting
• Pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
• Gather all show elements for the live guest producers (stills, videos, breaking news elements)
• Coordinate with the late/overnight researchers and help with last minute b-roll requests or fixes
• Coordinate with News Channel and Affiliate Relations for show-specific promotional material
• Cut video elements for various live news segments

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, English, History or a related field of study
• Must have at least one year experience working alone and with an editor AND working in production, at the network or syndication level
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, as researchers consistently work against deadlines, and often in breaking news situations
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and in breaking news situations
