Job Description

Responsibilities NBC News is searching for a Coordinating Producer to join the TODAY show.

Responsibilities
⁃ As a Coordinating Producer for the TODAY show, you will be responsible for pitching, developing, overseeing and turning news of day pieces for next day air
⁃ Produce original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field producing and shooting, and overseeing editing
⁃ Coordinating Producer is expected to both pitch story ideas that show unique understanding of TODAY audience and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
⁃ Work with Standards & Legal Team to ensure Editorial Standards of all segments
⁃ This is a Sunday - Thursday schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
⁃ Bachelor's Degree required
⁃ Experience in editorial and show production at the network level, preferably with morning television
⁃ Body of work which shows topflight production, creativity and ability to handle editorially sensitive topics.
⁃ Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
⁃ Must have strong writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment
⁃ Must be willing to work in NYC
⁃ Must be willing to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
⁃ Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices
