Responsibilities

The NBC News Digital Newsgathering desk is looking for our next great associate video producer. This is a wonderful opportunity to work at the core of NBC News's newsgathering operation in a highly collaborative environment, producing short-form videos for NBCNews.com and its digital, mobile and social platforms.

Job Duties
• Collaborate with NBC News producers and editors acro ss the globe
on the acquisition, selection, editing, publishing and distribution of live and on-demand video content
• Select, edit and publish images to promote video clips
• Write and edit text to be used on-screen and for headlines and captions
• Tag video content with editorially relevant metadata
• Experience crafting evocative, fair and accurate headlines and informative captions

. Assist with the production of livestreamed feeds for NBC News digital platforms
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule, nights and weekends.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum one year of experience producing, editing video on the web
• Familiarity with nonlinear editing systems
• Strong journalistic writing skills editorial judgment. Familiarity with AP Style.
• Familiarity with photo editing software
• Strong organizational skills and strong work ethic
• Ability to take direction well and provide self-direction
• Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, often-hectic environment
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments well under extreme deadlines

Desired Characteristics

Desired Characteristics:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or other discipline emphasizing storytelling and multimedia creation
• Experience with Avid video editing is a plus
• Knowledge of NBC News policies guidelines and practices
