Photo Coordinator (National Geographic)

Are you excited about the opportunity to contribute to the legendary National Geographic brand? At Disney Entertainment Television we are seeking a Photo Coordinator to assist with the curation and distribution of still images for promotion of National Geographic Programming. You will caption and embed metadata in assets for distribution to publicity, marketing, creative and online departments as well as pertinent external clients and global users. You will lead a monthly curation of compelling images from National Geographic's image collection for use on NG branded global social media platforms. Additionally, you will hire and track event photographers and details for show premieres and National Geographic brand events, occasionally providing on-site support.

Responsibilities:
• Embed metadata and ensure quality control of photography deliverables for all ongoing channel content and acquisitions.
• Track event photography requests, hire event photographers, and manage approvals of pre-event logistics including shot lists and batch captions.
• Onboard photography vendors and manage new-hire paperwork.
• Fulfill regional photography requests, aggregate comp show info, and ensure accurate archiving of all stills.
• Distribute final press photography via a digital asset management system, press site, and shareable photo links.
• Create and distribute monthly photo packs for social media use across National Geographic brand, working closely with National Geographic Image Collection.
• Assist photo editor and manager with additional editing on an as-needed basis.
• Occasionally assist on-site at events on evenings or weekends.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of photography or public relations related work or equivalent work or internship experience.
• Fluency with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge)
• Strong knowledge of digital file types and sizes
• Thorough understanding of image rights and copyright laws
• MS Office Suite applications
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Mac OS and basic software tools
• Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with DF Studio
• Experience with digital asset management systems
• Willingness for occasional domestic travel

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's degree in visual communications, public relations, or photography related field.

The hiring range for this position in Washington DC is $52,400 to $70,200 per year and in New York, NY is $54,940 to $73,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
