Overview and Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager, Programming Acquisitions is an active contributor of the MTV Studios Entertainment Group Team supporting all brands across the enterprise. He/she will be involved in every stage of the content deal life-cycle covering deal analysis to inventory management. The role is an example of 'best in class' practices, maintains responsibility for both internal and external communication related to all 3rd party acquired content and reports directly to the SVP of the department. Adept at managing fast paced, day-to-day operational aspects of the job, this person interfaces in the best interest of each individual brand.

Daily, this individual will manage relationships with multiple senior leaders, including partnering with Vice Presidents in Finance, Programming, Multi-Platform (O&O, streaming services), BALA & Rights Management, Network Operations, among others. Maintaining appropriate protocols at all times, the individual will deal with numerous high ranking external major studio executives. This individual serves as a fierce advocate for the MTV Entertainment Group as well as the ViacomCBS culture.

Key responsibilities :
• Receive, log and drive evaluations of inbound content opportunities
• Prepare analyses to support deal team in preparation and negotiation, from renewal preparation to post-mortem evaluation
• Monitor competitive landscape and share the info that has impact to acquired business
• Track deals and maintain inventory and negotiation history
• Collaborate with content acquisition group, content finance, acquisition operations, research and programming
• Maintain a historical knowledge of film/television series, as well as the current distribution landscape and competitive marketplace
• Inputting and tracking key deal points in PTS
• Executing all brand level movie trades
• Tracking linear & VOD usage for legal, RAD and accounting teams
• Liaising with VCAG & Finance on ROI process & key deal points
• Evaluate multi-million dollar film packages for brand viability & return, articulating potential to the larger team
• Direct the coordinator, maintaining oversight of acquisition related administrative support task
• At the direction of the SVP, distill essential brand needs to VPAG in order to expedite workflow
• Partner with BALA/RAD to make sure that deal memos are uploaded and key deal points are accurately tracked
• Support negotiation phase, manage details of delivery/formatting of premium stand up specials from distributors
• Oversee management of the ROI process including applying research & financials for final review and approval

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications
• Positive and self-motivated individual who takes ownership
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint and internet research skills
• Relevant program research and scheduling experience is mandatory
• Familiar working in databases / data management / report generation
• Obsessive attention to detail
• In-depth knowledge of the video landscape
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment
