We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join us. A key role within the Global International Consumer Products ('ICP') and Location Based Experiences ('LBE') legal team that is responsible for managing an international team of lawyers and paralegals, ensuring fast, efficient, and consistent turnaround times for all deals across all territories worldwide and providing the business with a high level of professional service at all times.

What will you be doing?
• Overseeing all legal matters for EMEA, latam, Asia, Canada and Global deals for ICP (including toy, publishing, merchandise, fashion collab, digital, gaming, promotions, creative services, events, competitions, cinema distribution etc.);
• Negotiating and managing agency and master licensee agreements and relationships across all international territories.
• Assisting and supporting direct reports with review of agreements and templates for LBE.
• Liaising with intellectual property team regarding IP infringement matters and supporting SVP Intellectual Property (based in New York) and advising business on day-to-day IP protection matters.
• Managing external counsel and contentious disputes for ICP; and
• Providing commercial legal advice to the ICP team.
• Managing and taking responsibility for international team of 14 reports based in London, Singapore, and NY offices (6 direct reports).
• Assisting team with legal matters for VIS Social Impact (production-focused), MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Corporate Social Responsibility as required.

What are we looking for?
• 5-9 PQE solicitor.
• Management experience is essential.
• Experience working in-house is preferred.
• Strong understanding of IP law is essential.
• Understanding of EU competition law preferred.
• Confident autonomously drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements and amendments.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Able to succinctly explain key issues and provide practical and actionable advice/solutions to senior stakeholders and commercial teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Accuracy and speed to ensure fast and efficient turnaround times.
• Able to cope with demanding workload and maintain high standards under pressure.
• Able to work well and maintain relationships with colleagues, internal departments, agents, and licensees.
• Able to communicate clearly across cultures and languages.
• Willing and able to assist others with drafting contracts/amendments as/when required.
• Confident managing, developing and supporting people.
