Responsibilities
MSNBC is looking for an experienced Producer for our Newsgathering and Planning team.

Responsibilities:
• Work with coordinating producer, assignment desks, and NBC bureaus to devise coverage for breaking and planned news events.
• Coordinate crews, security, and travel for reporters.
• Research and set up coverage for reporter live hits; may be asked to virtually produce.
• Coordinate with various NBC entities to flag relevant editorial and elements to show teams and on-air control room.
• Regularly pitch stories, work with editors to cut tape packages, and log tape; will need to backfill for show personnel as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in TV news required.
• Strong writing skills.
• Advanced knowledge of American politics and current events.
• Strong research and reporting skills.

Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

Desired Characteristics

Desired Qualifications:
• Prior edit room experience, preferred.
• Prior news desk experience and breaking news experience, preferred.
• Ability to book guests, work with graphics and video elements.
