We're looking for an experienced editor to help grow MSNBC's show blogs. You will work closely with the MSNBC Blog Editor, MSNBC show producers and MSNBC show bloggers as part of a team to drive the conversation and attract new audiences to MSNBC. You will have excellent judgment, a deep understanding of journalistic standards and a track record that proves you can hew to the standards of the NBCU News Group.

You will have superb editing skills, an understanding of what stories are most important, an eye for entertaining and unique angles and a proven track record of success in a fast-tempo newsroom. You will report to the MSNBC Blog Editor.

What you will do:
• Publish compelling, creative, unique opinion journalism
• Edit blog content created for MSNBC digital
• Help run the MSNBC live blog as needed
• Liaise with the MSNBC art, social, platforms and product teams
• Collaborate across digital and linear teams to spearhead MSNBC blog coverage of storylines
• Coordinate show blog content to avoid overlap and ensure editorial cohesiveness
• Meet NBCU News Group's rigorous Standards and Legal guidelines
• Ensure the tone and mix of content is in line with MSNBC cable
• Read widely and stay abreast of the competition

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant working experience
• 3+ years working in a newsroom environment, including experience with breaking news
• 2+ years working in a strictly digital shop
• Must have demonstrated experience with assigning and editing stories
• Must have experience working with live blogs
• Must have the desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive environment
• Must be a skilled editor with outstanding communication skills
• Must be professional, organized and nimble when working across newsroom teams, platforms and with partners
