Job Description

Responsibilities
This Associate Producer works closely with MSNBC's Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber and the team of the ''The Beat'' to produce content across multiple platforms including cable news, broadcast news, digital/social media, and live events. Responsibilities include original reporting, independent research, writing scripts, and helping to produce complete segments with visual elements. This AP role also involves coordinating with multiple shows regarding the content and production of the anchor's guest appearances. Expertise and familiarity with legal matters is a plus.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Original, archival and legal research
• Interviews and off-air reporting
• Fact-checking and proof-reading
• Logistical support for field reporting
• Coordinate cross-platform content production & anchor appearances

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree required
• At least 2 years of experience in research and news production
• Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends), ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to work under pressure, and during breaking news

Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
• Excellent news judgment
• Excellent writing skills
• Candidate must possess strong editorial skills: Knowledge of current events, legal, politics, geopolitics, and history
