Job Description
MSNBC's Special Projects department is committed to delivering impactful, in-depth content that builds on the strong journalism the network delivers each day -from long-form storytelling to transforming podcasts and live events into compelling TV specials.
MSNBC is looking for an exceptional Associate Producer to join the Special Projects department. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with a sharp editorial sense, a strong understanding of television production, and the ability to execute across multiple platforms.
As an Associate Producer, you will work directly with the EP of Special Projects and the SVP of Digital, Audio & Special Projects.

Responsibilities:
Main responsibility is to assist the EP with varying projects, which include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with the edit and delivery of on-air specials
• Collaborating with talent, field crews and production crews to bring stories to life
• Coordinating with Marketing to promote each project across platforms
• Completing timing sheets, music cue sheets and other production documents
• Working with Legal & Standards to ensure content is cleared for air
• Pitching original ideas for special projects across platforms
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of TV production experience
• At least 2 years of tape, field and editing experience
Desired Qualifications:
• Strong writing skills and sound news judgment critical
• Self-starter, eager to work on a small team, performing wide range of functions in a boundary-less way
• Ability to work in tandem with producers, editors, talent and internal departments.
Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
