Job Description
Role Purpose

The Associate Manager, Media supports the Media team in driving multi-platform growth of the NBC News and MSNBC brands across platforms by effectively targeting messages at audiences and media placements where they will perform. They will report to the Media Director and work closely with members of the broader Media team and the NBC News & MSNBC Marketing department.

Responsibilities will include:
• Work closely with Media coordinators and manager to develop strategic promotional plans leveraging appropriate media platforms
• Maintain an overall knowledge and understanding of priorities across both NBC News and MSNBC
• Schedule and report on digital assets across NBC News and MSNBC owned and paid placements and seek new media placement opportunities as products and platforms emerge
• Communicate with internal teams throughout the campaign development process to ensure media is in lockstep with audience and performance goals
• Be a voracious consumer of NBC News and MSNBC content; actively identify internal and external promotional opportunities
• Strategize innovative, non-traditional ways to fuel multi-platform audience growth and brand affinity; focus on gaining and retaining younger consumers
• Monitor multi-platform audience trends and share insights with a suite of measurement tools

• Minimum 3 years previous work experience within

relevant field (media agency, account management,

creative trafficking, etc.)
• Avid consumer of digital and social content and a

passion for news and current events with an

understanding of the media landscape and trends
• Strong ability to conduct effective in-person and email

• Highly organized, proactive thinker, creative mindset
• Ability to prioritize and juggle numerous projects and

deadlines within an extremely fast paced and high-

volume environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently

and with a collaboratively with a team
• Readiness to work outside standard business hours

when necessary, including on weekends
