In this role you will be part of the Project Rene team building out the next generation game and creative platform. Project Rene is a Mobile + HD cross-platform that allows players to play The Sims alone or with friends, without barriers, for the first time ever. Explore the dramatic lives of your Sims in the most accessible, dynamic Simulation to date. Players can create characters, customize furniture, design apartments, and more using accessible tools. You will be reporting to the Development Director.
Location: Remote North America - open to most North America locations
As a Senior Experience Designer II with Maxis, you will partner with XD Director, Game Director and Creative Director to inform overall product vision through holistic vision for player platform experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Apply appropriate UX methods for the challenges at hand (Experience mapping, journey maps, task flows, sketching, wireframing, storyboarding, prototyping) to explore problem spaces and deliver world-class solutions that are informed by player data & insights.
• Work with your team and centralized partners to set priorities and find balanced design solutions to player needs and our goals within technical constraints and release schedules.
• Use our goals and data to inform design direction and decisions to deliver a product that improves iteratively over time.
• Guide strategic research plans in partnership with User Research and Product Management disciplines.
• Explore and design a cross-platform system to feel natural across a variety of inputs such as touch, mouse, keyboard, controller, etc.
• Build bridges between disciplines and foster a creative, collaborative environment while working in an iterative development process.
• Be inclusive by design. Help define a creator and social ecosystem that is sustainable and discourages toxicity.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, product designer or similar role, with at least 4 years at a Senior level. Your experience includes some combination of: game products, entertainment products, live service and social networks.
• Experience partnering with UXR and analysts to lead planning and find opportunities for research.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative user research methods and experience incorporating insights from analysis into designs.
• Experience creating and extending design systems.
• Proficiency in contemporary UX design tools and task management software.
• A portfolio with work samples demonstrating user-centered designs across a range of digital products and platforms.
Qualifications (Desired):
• Passion for playing and making games.
• Experience working on a cross-platform product with social marketplace components.
• Familiar with products, business models, and trends related to user generated content (UGC).
• Familiar with consumer trends, online communities, creator ecosystems, fandoms.
• Background in HCI, Psychology, cognitive science.
• Familiarity with The Sims 4, The Sims franchise or the life simulation game genre.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES

º $131,600 - $213,300
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $131,600 - $213,300
• Jersey City, NJ:
º $154,800 - $213,300
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $131,600 - $179,600
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $131,600 - $195,200
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
