Job Description
Ubisoft Connect is the ecosystem of player services for Ubisoft games across all platforms. It aims to give the best environment for all players to enjoy their games and connect with each other on any device.
We're looking for a skilled UX Writer to join our team. You will foster a user-centric approach, be instrumental in boosting the quality of player-facing communication and help establish global writing processes for Ubisoft Connect's products.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team where everyone is willing to expand their knowledge and is encouraged to continue learning new things. The team is characterized by passion, comradery and the love for PC gaming.
You will work closely with teams located around the globe including the Online Services development teams, game development teams as well as other stakeholders within the company. Within the role there will be room for other developing tasks depending on your interests.
We're offering a permanent position in Malmö, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply using English, our company's primary language.
What you'll do
• Write concise interface copy in English for player facing features (descriptions, menus, settings, notifications, etc.) as well as internal tools
• Iterate based on design, technical, and localization needs
• Set tone, voice, and the overall writing style for our products in English
• Partner with UX Directors and transversal teams to understand the overall vision and develop our communication strategy
• Establish a UX Writing guide as part of our design system; set up and maintain documentation across our teams
• Work closely with designers to discuss intentions and write content to transform designs into user-friendly products
• Collaborate with UX Research, Accessibility, and Quality Control to grasp player needs, motivations, behaviors, etc.
• Structure sustainable workflows for our writing processes
• Work closely with localization teams who will adapt your text into different languages: give context, provide feedback, and continuously improve on best practices
• Brainstorm and research content ideas + identify opportunities to improve the player experience through copy
• Support marketing teams and user research in their communication with our players.
• Follow up on content post-launch and iterate based on feedback
Qualifications
What you'll bring
As a UX Writer joining our team, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience through well-crafted content. We're looking for someone who can find user-friendly ways to communicate in an international context. You'll make data-informed decisions, gather insights, and create empathetic content that resonates with our gamers. Attention to detail and a knack for innovation are essential as you balance the big picture and ensure excellence in your delivery. Besides the above we're looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
• Related experience in copywriting, technical writing, or content strategy
• Proficiency in English at academic level (C1-C2) or native speaker
• Bachelor's or master's degree or other relevant vocational education programs is a bonus
• Experience in writing user-centric copy adapted to various platforms (e.g. PC, Console, Mobile, Web)
• Knowledge on how to work with data to inform your content choices
Nice to have
• Passion for video games and esports
• Experience in collaborating with international teams
• Experience with digital distribution platforms (such as Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Epic Games etc.)
