Who are we hiring?
The Benefits Operations Manager plays a hands-on role in supporting the Director of Benefits by ensuing operational excellence in the daily administration of our employee benefits programs. The Manager ensures all health, welfare and retirement plans are administered accurately, efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with deep expertise in benefits operations, HRIS, and vendor integrations.
What will you do?
• Own the end-to-end configuration, testing, and ongoing optimization of health and welfare benefits within HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
• Lead system testing and validation for benefit plan changes, implementations, open enrollment, and vendor integrations to ensure data accuracy and payroll alignment.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison between Benefits, Payroll, HR Technology, and external vendors to resolve system issues and improve data flow.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, system test scripts, and configuration standards to support scalable benefits operations.
• Support annual open enrollment from a systems and data perspective, including testing, file feeds, audits, and issue resolution (not just employee-facing administration).
• Partner on benefits audits, compliance testing, and vendor evaluations with a focus on system controls and data integrity.
• Support regulatory requirements (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA) by ensuring accurate system configuration and reporting readiness.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or enhance benefits processes through technology and operational improvements.
What do you need to s/ucceed?
• 5+ years of experience in benefits operations or benefits systems, with demonstrated hands-on ownership of HRIS or benefits administration platforms.
• Proven experience performing system configuration, testing, data validation, and issue resolution related to health and welfare benefits.
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise HRIS and benefits administration platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, ADP or similar) in a highly matrixed organization.
• Strong working knowledge of benefits file feeds, integrations, and data exchanges (EDI, SFTP, inbound/outbound files).
• Experience partnering closely with Payroll and HR Technology teams to ensure benefits data accuracy and downstream impacts.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis, including working with large datasets (CSV, XML, flat files).
• Experience in a matrixed or complex organization with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
• Ability to translate benefits requirements into system configuration and operational workflows.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Benefits knowledge (health & welfare plans, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA) as it relates to system configuration and reporting.
Pay Range
$83,000 - $140,000 USD
