Job Description
Position Summary

The Pipeline Supervisor will be the manager, and primary point of contact for Pipeline Technical Directors in an ILM Studio. The Pipeline Supervisor will act as point of contact to CG Supervision for their shows regarding support, schedule and targets for front line Pipeline support. The Pipeline Supervisor prioritizes requirements and works with the team to implement changes as well as ensuring that show support is crewed appropriately.

The Pipeline Supervisor reports to the Director, Technology or Manager, Production Engineering for larger career development, compensation, etc

What You'll Do

Team Management
Directly manage Pipeline TDs including regular individualized check-ins and is responsible for personnel management, performance reviews, merit and promotion
Communicate priority and facilitates understanding with Pipe TDs for scoping and implementation
Identify potential candidates, evaluate their capabilities, and provide clear feedback
Develop team members through sharing of knowledge and expertise, and providing constructive feedback
Work with Engineering teams, Technology Project Managers and the Technology Supervision on projects with overlap
Proactively try new ways of working to improve outcomes for the teams

Stakeholder Communication
Proactive, primary point of contact for shows with regard to Pipe TD support, requirements, and schedule in local studio
Update weekly production synopsis for anticipated billing and all work in progress where required
Communicate weekly or more regularly, as necessary, shows progress report to entire team
Manage communication between other ILM sites within the Pipe TD teams
Initiate efforts to build consensus, resolve conflict and align people

Scheduling and Systems Management
Work with Technology Leadership, and Show Supervision, create and maintain the casting and tasking of Pipeline TDs
Organize and run prioritization / scheduling meetings with Show Supervision to drive tasking and prioritization in the team
Strategize, schedule and negotiate any schedule changes and rebalancing directly with shows
Establish internal communication hierarchies, systems/templates for targets and priorities - ensure full buy in and consistency with shows
Solve significant and unique issues where analysis of situations and data requires an evaluation of intangibles.

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Film or Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience required
8 years minimum work experience in production to include strong working knowledge of Visual Effects techniques and terminology
Strong scheduling experience required
Know when to make decisions vs. escalating; frames decisions requiring escalation
Must possess very strong organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while meeting deadlines
Proficiency in Macs/PCs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of UNIX required. Familiarity with Google Suite
Ability to work on a computer/keyboard for long periods of time
Nice to have:
Experience leading, supervising or managing a team
