Job Description
THE ROLE:
The Staff Accountant - Venues role is responsible for supporting and overseeing accounting functions for venues across the LATAM market (includes Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru and more!)
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Ensure South America financial statements comply with US GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements (SOA/SOX compliance).
• Reconcile Latin America event P&Ls and show settlements, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Support local teams and the South America finance group with corporate reporting, including monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations to third-party systems.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, analyze variances and investigate discrepancies to ensure integrity of financial data.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries in accordance with corporate deadlines.
• Maintain, monitor, and reconcile accounts ranging from basic to moderately complex, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
• Assist with quarterly reporting, internal audits and special projects assigned by management.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA candidate preferred
• 1-3 years' comparable work experience
• Bilingual – professional language - English/Spanish requirement, Portuguese a plus.
• Previous experience in venues, hospitality, retail accounting nice to have
• Strong Excel skills
• Quality problem solving and communication skills
• Oracle experience a plus
• Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
