THE JOB
The Safety Coordinator is responsible in conducting safety walk throughs of the venue and to complete the safety checks to ensure compliance of City and State fire regulations. This position will monitor the fire panel while open to the public. This position will notify the Manager on Duty of any deficiencies and work with manager to correct deficiencies.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Participates in pre-shifts and is a point of contact for Fire Detail
• Walks the venue inside and out pre-show and completes safety checks each show
• Maintains records of walk through and turns into the GM/MOD
• Responds to any panel alerts
• Immediately notifies MOD of immediate safety issues or panel alerts
• Reviews building checks with MOD at end of shift and reports discrepancies
• Monitors clear exit ways, fire lanes, and emergency exits
• Maintains clear fire escapes assuring no obstructions in the event of an evacuation
• Ensure enforcement of no standing areas
• General knowledge of theatre – being able to direct guests and answer questions as needed
• Monitors clear exits, assuring that there is no overcrowding, initiating a fire alarm if necessary, ensuring that access and egress routes are maintained so that any individual, security and or emergency personnel can move without undue hindrance.
Maintain all Standards Set by Orpheum Theatre
• Customer service standards
• Housekeeping - conduct walk through
• Meet or exceed safety requirements
• Follow all policies and procedures as stated in Handbook and manuals
• Maintain operational supplies
• Full compliance in house, city and state policies and procedures
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Minimum Requirements:
• 1-3 years security or music venue operations experience
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of 21 years of age
Preferred
• Fire panel, alarm, and protection systems experience
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Working environment has a moderate to loud noise level
• Ability to lift to 75 lbs
• Flexible Schedule (days/nights, weekends)
• Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing
• Ability to climb multiple staircases
• Ability to wear an earpiece for radio communications
