Role Description

The post holder is responsible for providing functional leadership, coordination and strategic direction to HR to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, fully compliant service to the organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director this is a highly visible role.

Who you are

Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
• Be CIPD qualified to level 7 or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in HR management or leadership roles with a proven track record of leadership success.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Ability to lead a HR team to deliver on HR projects and initiatives.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changes and tackle challenges efficiently and effectively under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving continuous improvement to proactively drive solutions.
• Commercially sound approach to make people related decisions in a fair and responsible manner.
• Strategic mindset and data driven approach, with a proven ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and challenge at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence to travel across the UK to various sites.

The Role and Responsibilities
• Lead the company's HR function and provide support to the board on all HR matters
• Develop the HR departmental plan (aligned with the company's business plan) and ensure it is achieved
• Ensure HR provides proactive support to the business, to enable growth and reduce risk
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the HR department and drive continuous improvement in these processes
• Ensure the company is compliant with employment legislation
• Identify risks and provide advice to the board on how to address these
• Oversee the non-operational learning and development of employees
• Guide and support managerial staff in HR-related matters such as absence management, disciplinaries, appraisals, and succession planning
• Work closely with the Finance department to provide accurate employee and headcount information for payroll and reporting purposes
• Budgetary responsibility for the HR department
• Line management and continuous development of the HR Manager
• Any other duties commensurate with the post
