About the role:
Are you a commercially driven and strategic leader with a passion for sponsorship and live entertainment? We're looking for a General Manager – Media & Sponsorship to lead our New Zealand team and take our sponsorship portfolio to the next level.
This is a newly created role designed to unify a high-performing team, drive commercial growth, and deliver world-class partnership programs across all Live Nation business verticals in New Zealand. You'll provide strong local leadership while working closely with our broader sponsorship team to develop and execute market-specific strategies that reflect the unique opportunities of the NZ market.

What you'll be doing:
• Team leadership and development: Build and lead a cohesive NZ-based team, providing hands-on leadership, professional development, and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and performance.
• Commercial growth: Drive revenue across all sponsorship verticals, partnering with sales and functional leads to meet or exceed targets through market-specific growth strategies.
• Client relationship management: Strengthen retention and growth through senior-level relationship management, ensuring high-quality delivery of partnership programs that meet client objectives.
• Strategic execution: Work with senior leadership to develop and implement a holistic sponsorship strategy tailored to the New Zealand market, aligned with broader company missions and goals.
• Operational excellence: Partner with operations leadership to drive seamless processes, ensure clear handoffs between teams, and maintain transparency in reporting, forecasting, and performance metrics.
• Market responsiveness: Monitor and adapt to shifting market conditions, client demands, and competitive pressures, ensuring the team remains agile and client-focused.
What you'll bring:
• Senior leadership experience: 8+ years in media, sponsorship, or marketing leadership, with a proven track record of driving commercial growth and leading high-performing teams.
• Client management expertise: Skilled at managing senior stakeholders, resolving challenges, and building value-led partnerships that renew and grow.
• Sales and strategy capability: Strong experience developing sales strategies, leading pitches, managing renewals, and executing market-specific growth plans.
• Operational strength: Proficiency in business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
• Market knowledge: Deep understanding of New Zealand's media, cultural, and sponsorship landscape, with the ability to act with local nuance and responsiveness.
• Collaborative leadership: A proactive, solutions-focused leader who thrives in ambiguity, brings people together around shared goals, and communicates with influence at all levels.
