THE ROLE
Insomniac is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help shape the technology powering some of the world's biggest live experiences. You'll design and build backend systems that support e-commerce, ticketing, and fan engagement, while working closely with our internal and offshore teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Go.
• Design and optimize APIs (REST & GraphQL) to support apps and websites.
• Integrate and manage third-party services (Stripe, Braintree, Cloudflare, etc.).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Monitor and troubleshoot systems with modern observability tools.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable and innovative solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years as a backend engineer in e-commerce or related industries
• 3+ years of experience with Go (required)
• Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven systems
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and SQL databases (Postgres preferred)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Linux/Unix)
• Experience writing automated tests (unit tests, integration tests, browser / E2E) (required)
• Fluent in Git workflow (branching, merging, tagging, cherry picking)
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Bonus: Experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries
• Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes for orchestration and Redis for caching
• Bonus: Experience configuring and managing Cloudflare services, including DNS, CDN, caching, and security features
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• May work in drastic temperature climates
• Must be willing to travel to work events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines

Salary Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD
