Original Programming (Network and Studio)
A+E Networks is not in the television business. It's in the storytelling business. Our job is to bring consumers new ways to experience those stories. We get up every day excited to discover new talent, narratives and characters, and live for any chance to shepherd a great idea through development to air.

What we're looking for:

The Programming Coordinator will be an entry level role for someone with a passionate interest in media.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: In each role, you'll gain experience by having the opportunity to be immersed in Programming: (development, production and scheduling).

With coordinator roles focused on production and development, you will experience the life cycle of television series from pitch to development, greenlight and full-scale production. You will participate in both internal and external development and pitch meetings. Upon launch of the program, you will have an active hand in the 360 degrees that surrounds the success of Programming – from Press, to Marketing, Social and Digital.

With scheduling roles, you gain specialized experience in working to maximize ratings across History affiliated networks and platforms. The role will also be on the frontlines with acquisition vendors and suppliers and work closely with internal producer and operations to ensure additional content is delivered and scheduled in a timely manner and serves the needs of the platform.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Manage the program funding process by compiling information and organizing monthly series and Development approval documents.
• Research and obtain footage and photos from vendor websites for us in programming.
• Screen and log programs from A+E Archive for use in pitches, proposals, enhancements and specials
• Create ad-hoc department presentations
• Work to track and disseminate competitive information
• Support as assigned with some administrative functions, including scheduling and expenses.
• Field miscellaneous requests from production companies and internal departments.

YOUR STORY:
• 1-2 years' post college experience in the media business is preferred but we encourage upcoming 2022 or recent graduates to apply.
• Agency and/or production company experience is preferred.

You might be the right candidate if:
• You like having every day be different
• You find yourself immersed in pop culture trends
• You meet deadlines or communicate challenges in doing so and get help when needed
• Love working with a team
• Have technical Skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Google Docs
• You are social media savvy and keep up with pop culture trends, tracking for potential development swings
• Have strong multi-tasking skills needed and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• You identify issues, proactively recommend solutions to problems, and communicate to leaders
• You have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines
• You have knowledge or experience in development and production
• You embrace and incorporate different viewpoints and perspectives
