Job Summary/Description:

KWQC is searching for a content-driven anchor to join our news team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the writing and producing of newscasts but also help with digital content as needed. The ideal candidate will need to be a newsroom leader with excellent news judgment and a great attitude. We are looking for someone who embraces new technology and can work in a multi-platform environment, including social media and kwqc.com.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Write news stories under deadline
• Present news in urgent & active manner
• Shoot, edit & write as a reporter on special reports
• Produce content for kwqc.com
• Assist with producing newscasts as a ''command anchor''
• Pitch story ideas in line with mission of newsroom
• Must have excellent people skills to deal with wide range of staff members and experience levels
• Must show ability to connect with the audience

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field is desired
• Strong writing skills, using correct grammar
• Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
• Must have a strong understanding of journalistic ethics
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must be extremely flexible to work longer hours throughout the year
• Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, Photoshop, and Arc Publishing preferred
• Newsroom leader
