Daybreak Executive Producer

Job Description

KVUE in Austin is looking for an Executive Producer to lead a vibrant morning news team. This person must be a creative, motivational, and experienced newsroom leader. If you are a visionary who can successfully identify great, impactful content and develop a roadmap to meet the goals of KVUE News, this position is for you.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with newscast producers on creating unique shows with strong showcasing and layers
- Work with the digital desk to identify and assign content that will draw viewers to KVUE newscasts
- Encourage innovation, risk-taking and powerful storytelling in crafting great newscasts
- Inspire enterprise stories and coordinate special coverage with news leadership team
- Oversee multiple newscasts to ensure they meet our strategic goals to tell the best stories and make Austin better
- Identify daily opportunities to have our news get noticed and reach new audiences
- Work collaboratively with other managers and perform tasks as required by the News Director and Assistant News Director

Job Requirements:
- 5+ years newsroom experience preferred as a producer or manager
- An innovative and transformative mindset
- Strong understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
- Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, photojournalism, editing, and content management systems a plus
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines
- BA/BS in journalism, communications or related a plus
