MMJ / Digital Producer

Job Description

KTVL is looking for an Multi-Media Journalist. Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television.

Skills and Experience:
• Sharp news judgment
• The ability to tell an engaging story
• Excellent technical skills
• The ability to work well independently
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
• Compelling and accurate writing
• Ability to multitask and manage their time in order to deliver content to multiple platforms
• Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative digital story, appropriate to the platform
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily digital production
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must

Requirements and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 year reporting experience is required
• Must have at least some previous news digital news content production experience at a commercial TV station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
• Experience with live shots is a plus
• Experience with Live-U is a plus
• Expereience with AVID is a plus
