KTVL has an immediate opening for a Digital Content News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for creating informative, innovative, and engaging digital content to ktvl.com and all our social and digital platforms. A qualified candidate will bring creative ideas on how our CNY Central News Team can more successfully and impactfully engage and grow our audience on social and digital platforms.

Required:
• Strong leader and communicator
• Ability to execute digital strategies and goals
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities are a must
• Solid news judgment
• Write compelling and error-free news content
• Ability to multitask
• Must be able to work under constant deadlines
• Must have their pulse on the 24/7 news environment
• Must be extremely proficient with the use of multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Must be in tune with emerging social media
• Creative in cross promotions between on-air and on-line
• Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy
• General knowledge and interest in local, national, and world news
• Keeping Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms updated throughout the day
• Editing and posting relevant materials from reporters and producers onto the website
• Creating web-based content from materials gathered by photographers and reporters
• Gathering news affecting the community
• Assisting in the efficient operation of the assignment desk
• Listening and responding to scanner traffic

Experience:
• Must have at least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
• A journalism degree is preferred
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy. This includes, but is not limited to, AP style writing, attention to grammar and a sense of urgency when breaking news happens
• Expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and emerging social media
