Job Summary/Description:

The News Reporter/Anchor at Arizona's Family CBS 5 and 3 TV are owned and operated by Gray Television. Ideal candidates can deliver news in a conversational, authorative and genuine way which will attract the largest available audience to the station's newscasts. Our anchors are newsroom leaders who consistently attend and participate in editorial meetings. Daily anchors will pitch story ideas and collaborate with Producers. This candidate should have experience field anchoring, strong writing skills and can edit and/or rewrites copy when needed. Our anchors produce in-depth, promotable content on a regular basis as well as expand their content via live Q&A segments on OTT platforms.

Duties would include delivering the news in a conversational, authoritative and genuine way. Reporting both in the studio and in the field. Research, pitch and accept general reporting assignments from Executive Producers, Senior Producers, Managing Editor and/or Assignment Desk. Provide story narration on or off camera. Engage and contribute content on various multiple digital platforms. Contribute initiative concepts and ideas on a regular basis. Participate as needed on in-studio interviews. Develop and maintain contact with news sources. Propose ideas for hard news stories, follow-ups, features and mini documentaries.

Represent the station at various community events. Provide general assistance in the preparation of station newscasts. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two years general on air-news reporting experience. Journalistic skills editorial judgment with knowledge of editing and photography skills, or equivalent work experience
- Bachelors degree in Journalism or Communications preferred

- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, meet deadlines, work well as a team and independently. Exceptional communication skills and excellent knowledge of current events
