Job Summary/Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic News Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the technical and operational aspects of news production, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality content delivery. This role is critical to maintaining our newsroom's efficiency, quality, and innovation while driving successful news coverage and original programming.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage logistics of daily news, breaking news, and planned event coverage
• Assist in the development, implementation, and training of new and existing systems
• Schedule, train, evaluate, and supervise video editors & technical staff
• Manage Bitcentral archives and content servers
• Manage digital platform delivery (ensure people in the field have the tools they need to contribute)
• Manage microwave, ENPS, coordination of news remotes, and news IT services
• Manage fleet maintenance
Qualifications/Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of: ENPS, Bitcentral (Oasis and Edius), GSync, VIZ, and LiveU
• Competency in all digital platforms, including both social and traditional
• Ability to work with all types and act as a liaison between departments
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems associated with all technology facets in the newsroom
