Job Summary/Description:

KSWO is seeking a digital content producer who can thrive in a busy newsroom, stay on top of breaking news and find and create compelling content in between breaking stories. The DCP reports to the digital content manager and works closely with news managers, reporters, anchors, meteorologists and photojournalists to create and showcase original content and curate quality images, text and sound for all platforms, including KSWO.com, the 7 News app and social media. The digital content producer will post news stories to the station's website, apps and social media. The DCP will also produce news content from public documents. As needed, the DCP will execute live coverage on social media and the app of breaking, severe weather, and developing stories.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Writes AP-style news stories daily for web
- Subsequently posts engaging content on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Sends breaking news and trending push alerts
- Copy-edits digital stories from reporters and other newsroom staff
- Livestreams events using station technology for web and Facebook
- Monitors comments and messages on the KSWO social media pages
- Creates memes, videos and graphics for social engagement
- Communicates effectively with producers to incorporate web and social elements into newscasts
- Attends and contributes in digital and editorial meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Newsroom and digital content producing experience preferred
- Must have a solid grasp of AP Style, the ability to write clearly with sound grammar and under deadline pressure
- Must have solid news judgment
- A solid understanding of social media
- Must be able to copyedit others as well as self-publish error-free copy on deadline
