Job Description
KSWB-TV, the FOX affiliate in San Diego, California is seeking a proven leader to manage sales efforts. San Diego is DMA #27, the 8th largest city in the country and iconic for weather, outdoor activities and endless coastlines. The General Sales Manager is responsible for delivering best in class sales performance and leading the day to day operation of the Sales department, including development of new business and achievement of revenue goals across Broadcast and Digital Platforms. The ideal candidate will utilize their proven skillset and demonstrable experience in leading sales teams and will have a track record of high performance in developing revenue across multiple platforms. This role will be accountable for implementing strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market development in line with Nexstar's vision and values. The ideal candidate will be a true leader in the station as well as in the community by providing a positive perception and winning brand. The ideal candidate understands that strategic thinking and creative ideas are the new currency for success along with a 100% all in to win attitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership for the broadcast/digital sales teams with clear understanding of both channels
• Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees
• Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national, digital and news integration sponsorships
• Creates strategies that drive new business development and long-term partnerships
• Manages inventory and revenue forecasting setting rate structures that optimize revenue opportunities
• Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals
• Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures
• Resolves customer issues and challenges using a win-win attitude
• Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and perfect team operation
• Understands various forecasting tools and CRM software that provide clear forecasting reports updated weekly
• Directs the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum five years' experience in media sales
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
• Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them
• Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
• Proficiency with Wide Orbit, BI, Matrix or similar CRM as well as Excel, Word and other various business software systems
