Job Description
KRON4 News in San Francisco is searching for an Assistant News Director. This position will help lead KRON4's team of broadcast and digital journalists and help oversee the day-to-day operation of the newsroom.

We're looking for someone passionate about local journalism with strong leadership skills and excellent news judgment. Candidates should have previous news management experience, with a proven track record of training, developing and recruiting news talent.

KRON4 News has a long legacy of covering the stories that matter to the Bay Area. We do more news than any other station in the market. Our team produces 13 hours of broadcast news every weekday and 13 hours over the weekend.

The Assistant News Director will work out of
our San Francisco studio on The Embarcadero.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with reporters, producers, digital producers, assignment desk
• Review daily newscasts to ensure quality control
• Run editorial meetings
• Develop coverage plans for breaking news and special events
• Oversee Newsroom Schedule
• Assist in employee training, feedback, and evaluations
• Help in recruiting and hiring news department personnel
• Collaborate with News Director to establish goals and develop a strategic plan for the newsroom
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by News Director

Requirements & Skills:
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel and privacy laws
• Strong editorial judgment
• Great people skills
• At least three-years of experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
