KSNB-TV serves the Central Nebraska area in the Lincoln-Hastings-Kearney market. We are an NBC affiliate with full service newscasts weekdays and weekends. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Generate local weather-related content for our digital platforms and news broadcasts
- Contribute daily weather-related story pitches
- Develop weather-related stories daily, shoot video, write and edit copy and video, front these stories in person live and in-studio
- Anchor weather segments in weekend newscasts and fill-in as needed for morning and evening newscasts
- Work with weather team to grow digital and social media footprint of our weather platforms including ksnblocal4.com and our KSNB Weather App
- Use WSI hardware and software to generate weather presentations on-air, on-line
- Anchor severe weather coverage as needed, using available tools to provide a comprehensive understanding of the weather
- Be ready and willing to work various schedules depending on the staffing needs of the station

Qualifications/Requirements:

We need people on our team who have a passion for telling weather stories, how the weather impacts daily life, learning about our community and our audience, and to authentically demonstrate that passion on the air, on-line and especially in person.
This position requires a high level of creativity and communication. Candidate must have a background in meteorology with a passion for story-telling and cutting-edge presentation. Professional experience on air preferred. The select candidate must perform under deadline pressure. Familiarity with WSI Max, Avid, INews, ENG camera operations and video editing background preferred. Our audience embraces our talent because we show them that we care. The ability to communicate live on-screen in a professional manner on all platforms. The ability to type and operate newsroom computers and other news gathering equipment in an above average capacity, excellent people skills when dealing with coworkers and the public, a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are requirements. Position would require permanent residence in Hastings or Grand Island, Nebraska
