KOIN 6 TV, Portland's CW, and KOIN.com, a Nexstar Media Group Inc. owned CBS and CW duopoly in Portland, Oregon has an immediate opening for an experienced Local Sales Manager. Nexstar is the largest media company in the country with 200 television stations, web sites and full suite of digital solutions. The ideal candidate will be passionate, persistent, and focused on local business development.

JOB SUMMARY: The Local Sales Manager is responsible for leading, teaching, and motivating the sales team along with growing local broadcast and digital revenue.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Recruit, train, develop and motivate the local sales staff.
• Work with sales management team to develop new and non-traditional revenue streams, sales packages and promotions while overseeing implementation.
• Passion for new business development with a focus on zero share accounts.
• Work with local and regional agencies to maximize station share of business.
• Manage and direct account executives to achieve local sales goals.
• Plan and direct staffing, training and performance evaluation to develop staff.
• Prepare and submit sales and financial reports as directed.
• Direct and coordinate activities involving all sales.
• Manage and confer with potential clients and customers.
• Work with sales management team on inventory management and pricing.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong leadership & team-building skills.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, communications, writing, negotiation, & presentation skills.
• Must be well organized, display a professional demeanor, exude high energy and show attention to detail.

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of sales management experience including local and digital sales. Must have strong record of understanding process development and management.

Training/Equipment: Strong MS Office skills including Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Nielsen, Strata and Wide Orbit a plus.

Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to juggle multiple tasks from multiple sources at one time and will work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced office environment.

This employee must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
