KNOE-TV 8 News is an award-winning television station and news organization located in Monroe, Louisiana, covering northeast Louisiana, Union and Ashley Counties in Arkansas, and Warren and Adams Counties in Mississippi. KNOE-TV is owned by Atlanta-based Gray Television and is a sister station to ABC affiliate KAQY. Job Summary/Description:

KNOE 8 News is looking for an experienced journalist with a proven track record of leadership and community involvement to anchor Northeast Louisiana's dominant #1 morning and noon newscasts. The ideal candidate thrives when working with a team, exhibits strong editorial judgment, and is willing to do what it takes to get the best story. Anchors are expected to regularly create compelling original content, develop story ideas and sources, and work with producers to generate innovative, interesting newscasts.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Anchor daily newscasts, as well as breaking news cut-ins
-Report for KNOE newscasts
-Approve reporter and producer scripts
-Development of sources and stories within the community
-Engaging with viewers in the community and over social media
-Work with producers and reporters to grow their skills
-Produce morning newscasts when the producer is on vacation, the noon newscast, and special reports
-Make community appearances on behalf of the station
-Candidates should also exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills, and maintain a professional attitude
-This position requires availability to work all shifts and may require holiday work

Qualifications/Requirements:
-2 to 4 years of anchor or reporting experience
-Degree in broadcast journalism or related field
-Strong, demonstrated news judgment
-Superior writing and copy-editing skills
-Live reporting and strong on-camera presentation skills
-Proficiency in story creation and newscast production
-Basic computer knowledge, including newsroom software (such as ENPS & Edius)
-Carry, shoot and edit video
