Job Summary/Description:

KKTV, The Gray-owned CBS affiliate in Southern Colorado, is seeking a creative and energetic weekend morning show producer, who can produce, plan, and manage news broadcasts from start to finish. The Producer must be able to produce solid, accurate, informative news stories in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• ️ Produce daily newscast
• ️ Conceptualize newscast rundown
• ️ Collaborate with EP, field crews, and assignment desk to determine the content of newscast
• ️ Write scripts
• ️ Research stories
• ️ Pitch story ideas
• ️ Participate in editorial meetings
• ️ Preview material before air
• ️ Work with reporters and directors on innovative production elements
• ️ Create compelling graphics
• ️ Incorporate and coordinate breaking news
• ️ Work to constantly improve and evolve look and execution of newscasts
• ️ Execute show from control room
• ️ Meet all show timing requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience - One to two years of producing or production support experience for a television, cable, or college station.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
• ️ Experience using ENPS, internet production tools, and Edius a plus.
• ️ Ability to work a flexible work schedule and work as a member of a team.
• ️ Must possess an advanced understanding of newscast presentation.
• ️ Must possess excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.
• ️ Must be results-oriented.
• ️ Ability to focus on coordination of daily and long-range segments from first contact to on-air products. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• ️ Ability to work in a creative, fast-paced environment.
• ️ Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.
• ️ Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
• ️ Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred.
