Job Summary/Description:

HNN has an immediate opening for a highly creative and highly motivated newscast producer for our evening shows. This position requires an aggressive decision-maker on coverage, content, show direction, graphics and multi-platform journalism, while maintaining brand dominance. Must be able to line produce, write compelling news stories and work well under pressure & tight deadlines. Previous producing experience and strong showcasing skills are also critical needs. A minimum of 2 years of producing experience & familiarity with ENPS are preferred.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

1. Plan, structure, write and edit newscasts, or other news programming or material including but not limited to multi media properties.
2. Produce and edit editorial content directly to website.
3. Work with reporters to conceptualize, coordinate and approve stories that conform to station policies, practices and procedures.
4. Work with newsroom manager to assign stories and monitor story coverage.
5. Perform other duties as needed and directed by News Management.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Strong news judgment, ethics and knowledge of Hawaii are a must
• Familiarity with use of social media as news gathering tools
• Excellent writing, grammar and copy-editing skills
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a newsroom preferred
• Must work well in stressful situations
