The stories of Tucson deserve to be seen through an exceptional lens. At KGUN, we're seeking a talented visual journalist to capture the vibrant spirit of the Southwest-from the striking desert landscapes to the diverse communities that make our region unique.
As our Photojournalist, you'll blend technical expertise with creative instinct to document everything from breaking news to in-depth features that celebrate Southern Arizona's distinctive character. Your compelling visuals will bring viewers closer to the heart of each story, creating meaningful connections across all platforms. If you're passionate about visual storytelling with purpose and impact, your talent belongs at KGUN9.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms
• Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite and related news gathering equipment
• Work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories
• Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Associates degree in related discipline preferred
• Generally 2+ years of experience in related field preferred
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Proficiency with lighting and computer based editing
• Proficiency with live microwave truck operation
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's web sites
• Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis
• Driving required. Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
