Job Summary/Description:
KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative, and energetic storyteller to join our award-winning team as a newscast producer. This is a full-time position that will invest, train, and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and advance.
Lubbock's legacy station is looking for a newscast producer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who understands creative storytelling and visual presentation.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Producing, with other producers and anchors, our #1-rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air.
- Gathering and verifying news information.
- Writing and publishing news content for newscasts, digital platforms, and social media.
- Being a team player.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right.
- Strong writing skills.
- Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred.
- Some newsroom experience preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of Edius and ENPS.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
- MVR check required.
