Job Summary/Description:

KBTX is looking for an innovative broadcast meteorologist to join our award-winning PinPoint Weather Team. You'll produce and deliver dynamic, compelling and relatable forecasts for our newscasts and digital platforms that demonstrate Brazos Valley weather in a compelling way. We're looking for a meteorologist who lives for urgent, impactful coverage of what's new, now and next, and excels in breaking weather situations. As the Brazos Valley's dominant #1 news station, you'll have the largest and latest resources to create content that resonates with viewers. You're joining a team of exceptional journalists that are committed to our community and work to make it better, both on and off camera. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
• Producing quality, accurate weathercasts that resonate with key demographics
• Researching, writing and editing daily content for television and web platforms
• Working with management and staff to generate stories and content
• Meeting daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Candidates should also exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills, the ability to be a team player and maintain a professional attitude. While this position is primarily a dayside weekday role, it requires availability to work weekends when necessary and may require holiday work.
• At least one year of experience in a TV newsroom is expected. A CBM or CBM-eligible candidate with a college degree in meteorology or a related field is preferred. Experience with ENPS and Grass Valley EDIUS are a big plus.
