Job Description
Job Title: Urban Youth Academy – Coordinator, Community Partnerships and Events

Job Summary: The Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission to empower Kansas's City's youth through baseball, softball, academic and social opportunities to be the leaders of tomorrow. The incumbent will support the community by serving as the lead for all community partnerships and programming opportunities for the Urban Youth Academy. This role will require a candidate with flexibility, with some working hours in the evenings, weekends and holidays.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for being the point person for all community partnership requests for UYA.
• Serve as a liaison between the organization and our community partners to support the development of new relationships and growth of existing partnerships.
• Establishes strong relationship with internal and external clients by following up and being thorough with work and deadlines.
• Focuses on the creation of a community program that is scalable to continue supporting a growing program.
• Works alongside the Coordinator, Crown Schools & Science of Sport to ensure the growth of the two main educational partnership programs - Crown Schools & Science of Sport.
• Develops and implements an entrepreneurial program to support the vision of the Royals original owner.
• Ensures that strong field trip and field day programs exist and are inline with the mission and values of the UYA.
• Creates and maintains a monthly educational program for families.
• Create and maintain a strong off-week community education training program.
• Creates a sensible scope and sequence program for all community partnerships.
• Develops and implements a scope and sequence of year-long training program.
• Serves as the ambassador of our summer camp program to ensure that it runs smoothly.
• Organizes and analyzes information.
• Ensures that the UYA staff is prepared to manage the summer camp program for kids. In addition will oversee the summer camp program.
• Maintain orderly and updated records of all community plans, processes, and events.

Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. A degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, sports administration or other related discipline is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the Kansas City market and MLB landscape is an asset.
• Excellent networking skillset and strong business acumen desired.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with other departments, personnel, clients, etc.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds
• Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
• Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Full-Time, Exempt opportunity that is eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. This role is expected to have a 40-hour work week.
