Job Title: Director- Community Engagement and Marketing

Job Summary: The Community Engagement and Marketing Director will play a crucial role in enhancing the Royals brand within our community by spearheading advertising campaigns and engaging with the community and our corporate partners.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and partners to create community engagement programs to boost attendance for the Kansas City Royals.
• Collaborate with Community Impact, Ticketing, and Corporate Partnerships departments to maximize the Royals' presence, advance the brand, and produce effective community engagement.
• Participate in local community groups that will support and give back to our communities, such as the Chamber, Rotary Clubs, or other worthwhile groups.
• Develop relationships with local sports teams to create support plans.
• Drive the Royals' presence with diverse small businesses.
• Responsible for directing the creative team to execute effective community marketing initiatives.
• Develop a calendar of local community-driven events to boost brand awareness, build community partnerships, and increase attendance to The K
• Continuously assess various options for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising.

Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Minimum eight years of experience in a related position
• A degree in a related field of study is considered an asset, though an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrates sensitivity and tact in interpersonal relations.
• Proven experience in identifying target audiences and creatively devising and leading cross-channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate.
• Proven ability to network with community resources, build relationships, and create community partnerships.
• Demonstrate a proven track record with all relevant social media platforms.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Prior experience working in Sports is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds
• Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
• Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Full-Time, Exempt opportunity that is eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. This role is expected to have a standard 40-hour work week.
