Your Mission

Infinity Ward, the developer of numerous award-winning games, is seeking a Lead Lighting Artist.
Candidates should have a deep knowledge of visual and technical lighting in game development and be motivated to lead by example. Experienced in guiding artists through clear and constructive feedback, willing to work with off-site team members and partner studios within Activision, to deliver the highest visual and technical quality lighting. If you have experience in creating FPS lighting and guiding artists in shipping AAA titles with ''best in class'' lighting, then we are looking for you!

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Work with on and off-site Level Designers, Environment Artists, Visual Effects Artists, and team leads to provide creative lighting solutions across various game modes
• Collaborate with global engineering and development teams to debug issues, solve and help guide future technology
• Create or/and guide the team to create visually stunning creative solutions that are within memory and performance constraints across multiple platforms
• Oversight of map lighting including completion of production deliverables from initial look development to final polish pass
• Lead remote teams in Europe and Asia - review technical and visual aspects of lighting work and provide feedback and oversight
• Maintain high quality standards and attention to detail for PBR and lighting across teams and studios
• Participate in the capture process for skies and materials across Europe
• Provide mentorship to other lighting team members in specific areas of expertise
• Assist in the documentation and communication of technical and process guidelines for all aspects of the lighting pipeline

Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of real-time ''AAA'' lighting experience
• Strong collaborator, team builder and have excellent communication skills
• Proven ability and understanding of how to communicate clear and constructive feedback to others
• Experience and willingness to work with off-site, remote teams and provide visual and technical guidance, educate others on tools, processes, and visual leadership
• Solid technical background in runtime and pre-baked lighting techniques
• Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
• Experience and understanding of current ''industry standard'' real-time PBR techniques.
• Understanding of photography, camera terminology, exposure, and light
• An eye for detail and visual composition with the ability to craft lighting to enhance mood and gameplay
• Proficient in English including excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Production, Artists, and Engineers across large teams
• Experience with post-processing and color-grading techniques
• Ability to follow design reference and concept art to implement Art Directors vision
• Coding, Scripting, or experience in shader writing is a plus
