Associate AI Technical Designer

Job Description

Your Mission:

As an Associate AI Systems Designer, you will collaborate with engineers and animators to create and implement AAA quality AI systems and behaviors.
• A strong interest and passion for First Person Shooter games
• The ability to dissect and discuss AI design in recent games
• Familiarity with game editor tools such as Radiant, Unreal, Unity, or Crytek editors
• Knowledge of scripting language such as Python, Lua, or similar scripting.
• Knowledge of common game AI systems such as FSMs and Behavior Trees
• Strong linear algebra math skills as they relate to game programming
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Prior internship or game development experience related to AI a plus

Player Profile:
• At least five years of game industry experience with at least one AAA shipped title.
• Prior experience in a mid-level design role.
• Prior internship or game development experience related to AI a plus
• Familiarity with game editor tools such as Radiant, Unreal, Unity, or Crytek editors
• Knowledge of scripting language such as Python, Lua, or similar scripting.
• Knowledge of common game AI systems such as FSMs and Behavior Trees
• Self-motivated, proactive personality, that is concentrated on solving issues before they become problems.
• A drive for improving and simplifying processes and tools. Must be able to identify problems with final users and recommend solutions.
• Clear understanding of the shooter genre and what makes combat engaging and fun.
• The ability to dissect and discuss AI and combat design in recent games
• Knowledge of the best-in-class games in the genre and ability to deconstruct the elements of the game that make it excel.
• Ability to communicate well both written and orally.
• Strong desire and drive to develop cutting edge titles.
• Passion for developing and playing video games.
