Job Description
IndieWire is seeking a Director, Consumer Sales to grow our partnerships with leading consumer brands across events, experiential activations, sponsored content, digital, video, and social platforms. This role is central to expanding IndieWire's live media and branded content business and is ideal for either a proven consumer seller or a high-performing consumer partnerships/account manager looking to step confidently into sales.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who is hands-on, entrepreneurial, and highly creative. We want an imaginative dealmaker who can deliver smart, custom solutions that reflect IndieWire's brand and celebrate top talent, culture, and storytelling.
IndieWire operates in a unique position within the entertainment landscape, offering its partners access to a robust slate of film festival activations, awards events, educational summits, custom video programs, and premium editorial environments serving industry leaders and savvy entertainment enthusiasts.
The Director will be responsible for expanding existing client relationships and breaking new business across categories including (but not limited to) Tech, Auto, Travel, Fashion, Lifestyle, Culture, Spirits, and CPG.
Must Have
• Proven track record as a top-performing multiplatform account manager or seller, with consistent quota achievement.
• Existing relationships or demonstrated experience working with senior brand and agency executives across key verticals such as tech, travel, CPG, auto, spirits, and fashion.
• Experience managing and closing complex, high-value deals with advertisers and agency stakeholders.
• Minimum 3 years of client-facing business development experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities
• Drive revenue across live and virtual events, digital media, custom content, branded video, and sponsorships.
• Develop innovative, cross-platform revenue opportunities across IndieWire's ecosystem.
• Build, maintain, and grow client and agency relationships.
• Proactively manage a pipeline of targets and opportunities.
• Create integrated 360° pitches spanning display, video, social, mobile, experiential, and custom content programs.
• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, editorial, video, and events teams to deliver best-in-class programs.
• Strengthen awareness of IndieWire's offerings across client and agency networks.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong understanding of client KPIs and the ability to translate them into creative, custom solutions.
• Ability to navigate internal relationships and collaborate with other sellers and brands within PMC.
• Organized, self-motivated, and driven, with a willingness to travel for meetings and events.
• Familiarity with the film/TV ecosystem is preferred.
• This role also welcomes candidates from adjacent fields such as sponsorship/partnership leads, arts organization development, film festival sponsorship, or publisher-side client partnerships who are eager to transition into sales.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Typical wage range: $90k - $110k plus paid commission for achieving specific revenue targets. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees.
