Job Description
The Marketing Director - in support of the Chief Marketing Officer – will be responsible for leading processes and operations that amplify the strategic planning, and creative execution of Houston Rockets & Toyota Center initiatives. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and driving cross functional, integrated marketing efforts that augment our revenue streams, drive awareness, and create emotional connection to all Houston Rockets and Toyota Center events.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Integrated Marketing Strategy
• Collaborate with Marketing functions & Revenue departments (Corporate Partnerships, Ticketing, Suites, & Retail) on comprehensive integrated marketing campaigns and tactical plans that achieve or exceed stated goals.
• Collaborate with in-house creative and production teams to develop advertising assets such as graphics, commercials, voiceovers etc. for television, radio, print, social and digital platforms that enable the franchise to hit or exceed initiative goals.
• Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships and Event & Promotions teams to amplify fan experiences at Toyota Center games with dynamic experiential activations that meet or exceed fan and partner expectations, measured by satisfaction scores.
Operations
• Daily oversite of operations & processes across functions, business units, and key initiatives that enable the franchise to reach or surpass goals repeatably, efficiently, on time, and with strategic and creative impact.
• Lead the process of creating and maintaining the promotional matrix calendar for all Rockets home and away games including uniform choices, themes, giveaways, and title nights for partners.
• Explore new platforms and vendors that enhance and expand the reach of marketing efforts.

Execution
• Craft an omni-channel media, advertising, and email marketing strategy that maximizes our reach to fans and leverages various forms of relevant media to drive and maximize conversion.
• Establish and drive our performance marketing strategy that maximizes the ROI on ad spend.
• Work with the Integrated Marketing team to maximize viewership and engagement of Rockets programming on our network, Space City Home Network.
• Assist in writing and/or proofreading various forms of marketing copy for tv/radio reads, creative assets and email marketing campaigns that drive and increase conversion and engagement.
• Oversee Rockets youth basketball initiatives that grow our youth fanbase and engagement.
• Efficiently manage functional budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, digital media or relevant field
• 7+ years of experience in sports and entertainment marketing preferred
• Be fan/consumer & culture obsessed, with demonstrated command of driving initiatives that connect to them.
• Proficient in putting together marketing plans, schedules, and budgets
• Excellent written and communication skills with superior attention to detail and proof-reading experience.
• Must be able to excel in a fast-paced work environment, think critically, and react quickly, and appropriately to unpredictable situations.
• Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills.
• Strong visual eye with regard to the creation and curation of graphics, photography and video for social publishing.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and occasional holidays when needed

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
• The vision requirement includes close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Nature of position requires mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Must have ability to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed.
