Hearst Television seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to oversee its Digital News team. With broadcast stations in 26 US markets, Hearst Television's digital efforts encompass websites, digital video, social media, and emerging platforms. The right candidate will be a proven leader who fosters a metrics-driven environment for creative content production and who recruits, builds, and mentors diverse teams. Success for this role is increasing the overall cross-platform digital audience for Hearst Television properties.

The Vice President, Digital News reports to the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer of Hearst Television. This position is based in New York.

Responsibilities
• Lead Hearst Television's digital content strategy and teams
• Manage a team of around two dozen employees and direct strategy for digital teams at all of Hearst Television's stations
• Oversee digital national news coverage
• Oversee Hearst Television's national-facing social brands such as Stitch and Dispatches from the Middle
• Serve as a primary point of contact for social platforms and digital vendors
• Develop metrics-based strategies for content success, investigate and adjust to trends
• Set and track success metrics for teams
• Innovate new formats and concepts of digital video storytelling
• Serve as a partner and client to the Hearst Television digital technology group, advocate for improvements to user experience
• Recruit and build diverse teams across the United States
• Collaborate with senior news leadership on overall strategy and future content development
• Represent digital content to Hearst Television executive and station leadership

Qualifications
• More than 7+ years working in digital news
• A deep experience with fact-based, unbiased journalism and fact-checking
• Deep understanding of industry trends
• Deep working knowledge of social media platforms
• Experience directing news coverage
• Experience with production and measurement of digital video
• Experience managing teams
• Local news experience would be a plus
