Job Description
Your impact:

Town & Country is looking for an ambitious and creative editor to contribute to its society, style, and interiors coverage online and in print. This position will be a mix of editing and writing, and the ideal candidate will be as comfortable executing a quick take as they are at planning long-form trend pieces and reported features. There will be opportunities to attend and cover parties and after-hours events, pitch and execute stories for both digital and print, and assign and manage content from freelance writers. They should have enthusiasm for and a working knowledge of the T&C brand and topics it covers including fashion, interior design, travel, entertainment, politics, society, royalty, and the lives of the rich and powerful. Experience creating stories for the digital landscape is a must, as is print experience! Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work.

What you'll do:
• Conceive of unique ways to cover culture, style, interiors, and society news to maximize Town & Country's impact online and in print
• Pitch and execute short takes, long-form trend pieces, and reported features
• Edit a range of content from T&C staffers, from quick-hit news to reported stories on a daily basis
• Pitch and write content integral to T&C print
• Cultivate and manage a stable of freelance writers, assigning and editing content
• Assist with editorial planning, and the coverage of events such as awards shows, elections, major milestones for the royal family, etc.
• Serve as a representative of the brand at advertiser meetings and various after-hours events

Who you are:
• You have 3 to 4 years of professional, post-grad experience editing and writing similar content for a publication or website, with knowledge of digital best practices
• You have a discerning eye for societal trends
• You have the ability to analyze data and make editorial decisions based on it
• You have excellent writing, reporting, and editing skills, feel comfortable working under tight deadlines and across platforms, and producing content at a quick pace
• You have the flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed, and an interest in attending events and representing the brand
