Hearst Magazines is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer & UX Designer, Ad Targeting with a background in the advertising industry to focus on targeting solutions for digital advertising products. The advertising business at Hearst Magazines must meet the needs of a wide array of clients, while contributing to a premium product experience.

This Senior Front-End Engineer & UX Designer, Ad Targeting will join us at an exciting time. Responsibilities will include designing and coding the front-end of an internal and external tool to help teams discover target audiences that match to the 29+ Hearst Magazine brands. This role is at the forefront of innovating and streamlining campaign planning, management and reporting experiences, while making the complex seem simple. Fully ingrained and involved in all aspects of product development, from brainstorming the next innovation, to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, and product management to bring it to life.

Resonsibilities:

What You'll Do
• Throughout the strategy, design, and development lifecycle, the engineer/designer will work collaboratively with a strong Sales Technology and Operations team including product managers, engineers, operation executives, and account managers
• In this role you'll be involved in all aspects of product development process-from brainstorming the next innovation, to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, content design, and product management
• Your work will have strategic significance and high exposure
• Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, data, customer feedback, user research, and technical constraints/opportunities
• Quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives
• Relentlessly simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI
• Establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications-working closely with developers to see your design through to deployment
• Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively, across different audiences, and varying levels of the organization
• This role will be involved in all aspects of product development, from brainstorming the next innovation, to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, and product management to bring it to life
• This role needs to understand b2b, account managers, and advertisers as a key customer

Qualifications:

Who You Are
• We are looking for a senior level front-end engineer & user-experience designer that loves learning, and is passionate about conceiving experiences in the abstract, then driving that vision into solid design deliverables such as complex workflows, wireframes, user interface designs, interaction models, and prototypes
• You think first from the customers-both advertisers and sales operations perspective and set high standards for yourself and the team in developing advertising tools that help them achieve their marketing goals
• You have comprehensive understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices, with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design and functionality
• You are detail-oriented, comfortable working on highly technical team, skilled in using data to make decisions, and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
